It seems that they still use the same scam under a different company name.
This morning, a lady under the name of "Sheryl Sandberg" called me on my cell phone (from this number +8557755888), claiming to be a recruitment manager for a recruitment company called "GCC Recruiters" located in California. Despite her semi-British accent which sounded a little fake, she actually was very professional & went through so much detail about me, their company & the "supposed" company offering the job. It seemed that she actually had access to my resume & contact info, which gave me initially a little assurance that it was legit, but I was still skeptical and very careful throughout the call.
The offer was for an HR & Admin Manager position in a "leading global Airline conglomerate" with a great salary & benefits you couldn't resist! She conducted an initial interview with me on the phone that lasted around 50 minutes, & she was very encouraging & highly impressed by my experience & attitude. She later explained to me their screening procedure & gave me a list of required documents that include my masters certificate - which she emphasized on as a must - & that's when I had to stop her & explain that I don't hold a masters degree. She then promised to help me the best way she could & try to find a way to get around this obstacle after talking to her supervisor on lunch (she changed it to "morning coffee" for urgency!). She later emailed me the offer which I found in my junk mail folder (her email is
[email protected] ) & called me within 2 hours to follow up (from this number +1 323 2074111) & asked me to stay alert for her supervisors' call. After that, I was SHOWERED with continuous calls from both numbers in an unbelievably annoying way!!! 12 calls within an hour - 8 of them within 5 minutes!! I received one last call from a third number ( +8553656012 ) that I also ignored before a "Verna N. Kell" sent me an email (from the same sandberg email) requesting me to contact them urgently in order to finalize my application.
Long story short, my google search helped me identify their 9-day-old website, their scamming method & the phone numbers they use. So far, I've ignored their calls, but I might answer later for humor.
I only wonder where & how they got my resume, as I only shared that particular email they contacted me on with bayt.com (which is a well known reputable recruitment company in the GCC area), a friend of mine whom I trust & the people I currently work for. I plan to contact bayt.com to share my story & know more about their privacy policy, as it will be a disaster if they offer information to anyone who claims to be a recruiter!
