Received the call at 12:45...an automated recording said that it was from the IRS and I needed to return the call immediately to avoid further action against me. The call originated from LA, California.

I received a call from Nikki Johnson who left me a voicemail to call immediately, that it's the IRS and not to disregard it.
I'm pretty sure the IRS wouldn't be auditing me. They would probably owe me, that's why I knew it had to be a scam.
I kind of hope they call back. I would love to have a little fun with it.
Ah, oh no. How much do I owe? Oh, can I give you my credit card number over the phone? Ready? 9876-5432-0123-4567
