A call from this L.A. VOIP number arrived today. When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message, just dead space. This behavior is typical of robocallers (illegal telemarketers) who use automated dialers to place calls desperately seeking gullible victims.
Based on the diverse messages previous posters (see above) have experienced, this appears to be a boiler-room operation, in which a room full of illegal telemarketers work the phones with various sales pitches. Some may work well, others not so well, and still others not at all. The best thing to do is let your answering machine take calls from unfamiliar numbers like this one.
According to www.whitepages.com this number is described as "suspected spam." I'm sooooooooo surprised!
