The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has just ruled that the telephone companies can and should provide free blockers within their systems to block these scammers and con artists.
There is an effort being made by Consumers Union (they publish Consumer Reports). The effort is a petition to the phone companies—responsible for these phone calls—to offer free scam blockers.
The telephone companies are dragging their feet. They do not screen scammers and are making money off their harassing telephone Robocalls to consumers.
Signing the petition is sure to help. Consumers Union has clout because of the numbers.
Please go to www.EndRobocalls.org to end the madness, harassment and scams. You can also go directly to the Consumers Union website for the same information. Thank you.
Also, contact your Congressman. Congress should address this issue since it is a federal problem. My California Congressman Garamendi has not responded after 12 E-mails, but I hope you have a better Congressperson than me.
Got two calls from this number as well as two calls from a nearby area code number, identified as T-Mobile. Also behind with T-Mobile bill. Will not be renewing when contract is up.
Sorry Knuckles but I'm not so sure about your theory. I have no bill due; I'm all paid up. I don't mind a call from T mobile, but leave a message and get on with it. I don't have time for multiple calls during the work day. I have to keep my phone ringer on for personal family reasons and it's disruptive getting calls from numbers I don't recognize wherein they leave no message. LOVE TMobile. But DISDAIN these calls!
