And this number just called our business again, this time today at 1414 hours. As before, I said nothing, no one spoke on the other end, and the call disconnected. Definitely a scam artist.
This number called our business today at 1600 hrs. I saw "Los Angeles CA" and immediately assumed it was yet another scam artist. I picked up the phone but said nothing. There was no sound on the other end and then, after a long moment, the call disconnected. I suspect it was a system waiting to hear a human voice before either triggering an illegal idiot-message or transferring the call to the next available scam artist. I blocked my call information and called it back. A message told me that my call could not be completed. Thinking I might have entered the number wrong, I tried again. Same result. So it does not appear to be a legitimate call from a legitimate business or person. According to whitepages.com, it's a VoIP number, that oh so common tool of scam artists world-wide.
