I just got a call from this guy who claimed he is with Time Warner Cable. He told me he would send me a $100 gift card and some other stuff FOR FREE, but then asked me to give him my credit card # to cover the shipping. This is obviously a scam, bec. you never ever want to be asked to give out your confidential data over the phone. I immediately reported this to TWC, and they are going to investigate this further and put a stop to this, if it proves to be a fraudulent thing (which I am sure it is, for who else but a crook asks you for your cc#).
He did the same to me but he said he was from comcast I dont even have comcast. He was an Indian man heavy indian accent claiming to give $100 promotional gift card and some other stuff if I provided my credit card to cover shipping charges. I told him I was an online police affiliate and he hung up lol. My 4 yr old nephew has done a better job at scamming.
Caller purported to be from Comcast and offered that I was considered a valued customer and had been selected to receive $100 and a free 30-day supply of a raspberry fat burner. He said all he needed from me was $9.95 for shipping. I said I did not want the free gifts and he immediately hung up.
Caller said they were from time Warner. asked if I was pleased with service, I asked, "why"? they asked me my name, I again asked"why"? then they hung up. Called the number back and a voice message said, "the google subscriber was unavailable". I called and reported to TWC
