Tired of these calls? Here's my plan to "give back". All you need is a computer with a fax modem. USB fax modems are available from Amazon for less than $20. Then let your computer return some of these calls.
Simply create a document in a word processor and then print it to your fax queue. You will be asked what number the fax modem should call. Make the document at least 20 pages long. You can generate an empty 20 page document by simply adding 19 page breaks. If you have a message you would like to send, insert it between the page breaks. This document will work for any phone number but your message will only be seen if you send it to another fax machine. The sci-freak headquarter's fax number is 1-323-960-3508. You will probably want to send several copies of your document.
But don't stop there. You can also send this fax to a non-fax phone number. Queue up a lot of copies of your document to the other numbers listed below. Your fax modem will become your very own mindless zombie robot dialing the numbers over and over and over. Sound familiar?
Other numbers to try:
1-323-960-3500 (this is the main headquarters number)
1-323-960-3543
1-323-953-3273
1-323-953-3339
1-323-953-3340
1-323-580-5513
1-323-580-5520
1-323-386-5697
1-323-888-6200
Receved two voice mails in a row -- the first asking for me, the second asking for a relative who doesn't live here. The caller said she was Laurie Alder and she was udating some files. She was looking for an ex-spouse of mine. We were divorced well over fifteen years ago, and I've changed the phone number at least twice. If it is Scientology, they are going to a lot of trouble to find this person. It wouldn't surprise me it that nut job got into Scientology at some point in time.
- This is Church of Scientology's "Mailing Department" (?).
- Several different people from the Church of Scientology previously called from different phone numbers. A very friendly female caller with a pleasant voice called from this particular number.
- Keep in mind that the call may be monitored and/or recorded. However, the law may require that you are informed of this fact first before they continue to dialogue with you.
- It was explained that they are "updating" their "computer files" and making sure mail is being received at the address in their files. Not wanting to have anything to do with Scientology over 20+ years ago (and asking to remove my contact information several times back then), they are now trying to contact me after all this time?! They really should just delete those old outdated contact information, instead of trying to search for and verify the people's contact information from years ago in order to update their old computer files/mailing lists to send them unwanted mail once again. It would be most considerate to many if they would just spend less time on their old lists, since it could be quite upsetting for relatives receiving such phone calls when they call to ask for people who have been deceased for many years. Perhaps they do not really understand that if people in their old database were still interested in Scientology, THEY would be the ones to initiate contact with them (not the other way around). Instead, for some reason, the organization seem to find nothing wrong with continuing to call, insisting on bothering people (even after being previously asked to be removed from their contact lists), and causing such inconvenience and frustration. They are indeed making their own organization really look bad to others, since more and more people are complaining (especially online) about their persistence and unwanted contact. It seems that they do not have a Public Relations professional/contact person in their organization to assess and restructure their Communications and Mailing Departments.
- From other sources online, it has been advised not to volunteer any extra information to them, as it may just go into your "files" for their records. Also, do not let friendliness of the callers sway you into a personal dialogue, which may lead to softening you up for unwanted purchases and/or commitments to the organizaiton that you may regret later.
- Instead, if all else fails and you continue to receive unwanted contact via phone and/or mail, do your own further research and consider what the writers suggest above [see July 11th from "Anonymous" and Oct. 13th from "(bleep)___ Scientology"].
- Visit the website that was suggested above: http://www.xenu.net and educate yourself with what this organization is all about and with the reports by some (including former Scientologists who worked in the organization) who have chosen to speak out and warn others. Be very cautious about their beliefs/teachings, because it is described by others (including those who were once involved in Scientology), as a "cult" that will try to draw you in and keep you under false teachings and various methods of mind control.
- They were previously asked to stop calling for me at relatives' house (where I do not reside); and to also completely remove my contact information from all their lists, but they did not listen. And the calls continued. And continued. And continued. Several sources advise to not even bother speaking to them, because they won't listen and won't remove you from their contact lists. Sadly, this has been true for me. But I do not understand why, since it really is bad publicity for their own organization and cause. They have now boldly sent an unwanted item that was NOT even requested. Needless to say, after taking a photo of the package, it was immediately refused and returned back to the U.S. Post Office unopened.
- I am praying that God would intervene; that they would realize to just immediately remove my contact information from all their files, and cease calling (especially my relatives' house, where I do not reside) and sending any further mail. But more so, I am praying that God would bless all these people who are searching for truth with the only "way, the truth, and the life": The truth is found in the Bible, which is Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of His people, the only hope for forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation.
This organization does not stop. Like killer bees. I am an elderly woman, who simply wants to enjoy my remaining days now without harassment. You can see from the other messages that these people are a problem. Thank you for putting this number up and these calls to warn others. I feel I am not alone now.
Tom Cruise calling. He wants your soul. I held the portable phone next to the speaker and the feedback must have deafened the jerk on the other end. Got three calls in a row before they gave up, which is a "win" in my book. Ha.
