got the same message 3 days in a row on my voice mail..have gotton these before and know its a scam..finally he called me yesterday morning and told him to f--off and i have a trap on the phone and was comming after him to choke him....thought i would call everyday and bother him...now the number is fast busy....maybe and finally they shut him down....
Man says there has been a legal action started against my husband, and was I aware of it. I told him to send the info in the mail. He said take his number and have my husband call him back. He spoke with a heavy Indian accent and said his name was Adam Jones. A few months back, we had a similar message on our answering machine with a threat that we needed to call back asap if we knew what was good for us. Why can't these people be shut down?
Foreign sounding man's voice. I couldn't understand him, except for one thing, "US Treasury". I asked him to remove me from his list, and not to call here again. My caller ID said "Unavailable" .
Same method as mentioned above. Someone calls in and says I have an outstanding tax debt and I need to call (323) 647-2674 where Adam Jones is on the phone. He explains that there is a 2011 tax debt with penalties and interest and it needs to be paid immediately or I will be arrested today. Said I needed to go to Safeway to send out a money order. The IRS website warns that if you hang up, you'll probably get a call back in a few minutes with someone pretending to be the police. There was an anonymous callback a few minutes later, didn't even pick up.
I know some people are going to fall for this and actually go to Safeway, Walmart, or wherever money orders can be sent from. It's sad but I'm sure these people make a profit and as long as they can, they'll keep calling.
