Caller ID said "Los Angeles, Ca,"...left a VM, someone claiming to be "Miss Turner," calling on behalf of "Just Energy," stating that I had to call her back concerning the gas account...I don't have a gas account...it's not PG&E, they know I haven't had gas service for over 25 years...and when I call back, I have to "axe" for "Miss Turner..."
Asked to speak to who ever handled the PG&E account. Stated they were calling from Commerce Energy. I put them on hold for a bit then informed them that we would like to decline the call and be removed from the call list. The caller said it would take 72 hours to be removed...
Claims to be PG&E, yeah right. She wanted to talk to the owner and I asked what it's regarding she said she could only discuss with the person on the account. I told her I can't transfer calls without knowing what it's regarding. She got angry and said she would not discuss personal business and asked who I am. I told her I am the person who filters calls and it doesn't look like you are going to reach your target, have a nice day. Seriously, half my day is dealing with these types of calls.
Got a call from this number this morning and they left a message with our answering service about offering a PGE rate reduction. Was interested bc with summer coming our bill will go up. Called back and took the time to listen to the woman and its not a sales call at all. A new California law makes it so consumers can choose their own gas suppliers through PGE rather then PGE supplying the gas. PGE owns the pipelines and up-charges their gas to up their profits. This company offers gas at a much cheaper rate then you're already getting it. Basically their calling PGE customers to get them to switch to their gas instead. It doesn't cost anything and your bill will go down. I'm going to try it, our gas bill is high and this rate is about 1/2 what were paying.
