They want to scam you. If you call back and refuse to give your name the man calls you "piece of [***]" repeatedly but if you just call and put the phone down he gets REALLY pissed.
I got a call from this number twice. The first time I did not answer it. The VM they left me had a lot of static and I did not understand anything that was left on the VM. I tried calling the number back and the message I got was "please check the number and try again"
I got a call again from this number today and it hung up by the time I got to answer it - So I called back and the person answers on two rings. And he is from the "IRS" and they are apparently going to put a lien on my house, my car, freeze my bank accounts,

I asked my coworkers about this and they said this is a fraud.
They catch u offguard and say things like tax lien and make u nervous. And apparently everything has to be done right then and there and is rushed which does not make any sense.
I am waiting for them to call me back and give them a piece of my mind. And tell them to get a real job instead of robbing people.
I received a threatening phone call supposedly from the IRS. I called back 3 times, each time was disconnected by a person who did not speak understandable English. Called back the 4th time got someone who said his name was Jack Murphy. His English was not good but I could understand every other word. He said that I owe the IRS $4,900 in back taxes. He told me to shut up and listen to him, and when he was finished, if I had questions I could ask. He said that unless I cooperated with him, he would have local authorities come to my home and serve papers on me. I would have to go to court and if I lost the IRS would attach my land, my bank accounts, my automobiles, and anything else of value in my name. Then I informed him that I have lived on Social Security for the last 4 years, and before that my employer held out taxes. I had my taxes prepared by professional tax people, namely H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, etc. That in 2015, the year in question, my income was less than $15.000 and there is no way that I would owe $4000 on that amount of income. Then I invited him to send the local authorities to my house with papers, and in the meantime I would be calling my attorney. Then I disconnected the call. I am now waiting for the local authorities to show up.
Received three voice mails from this number, all stating to be from the I. R. S. I called back in a panic, a man speaking very poor English answered. When I asked if I might speak with someone else he hung up on me. I rang back ( like a dope) and spoke with "Jack". Asked if he could please either Mail documentation via USPS or email. He said it was " too late for that, I needed to pay my back taxes asap as police would be showing up at my door" any minute.
Man claiming to be from IRS, demanding $ for back taxes asap. He would not provide documentation of what what as hand. If I didn't pay, the authorities would be coming to my house to lead me off to jail in hand cuffs!
