Recieved a call yesterday on my job phone. They said that I have 4 hours to get in touch with them, or the would call my job and have my check garnished. When I looked the number up it is to a cell phone out of Ohio.

They're frauds. It's as simple as that.
Garnishment can NOT happen without a judgement. Meaning that unless you've appeared in court, and a judgement has been granted to the creditor, garnishment can NOT occur.
There are exceptions. Cases involving taxation, child support & gov't. backed student loans come to mind. If you've ignored a summons and have failed to appear in court, a default judgement may occur. Other than that any claims to the otherwise are pure BS.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
