I am so tired of the solicitors and telemarketers that I'm going to start hanging up more than I do. I don't even listen to the 2nd syllable on the first word for recorded messages or as they call them Robo calls.
This number 330-318-9020.. I think I will send to one of the girls in HR. She loves getting her frustrations out on these people.
Today, this call was a man asking to be connected with someone in charge of "student discipline." When I asked if he could give me more information and what product this is for, he vaguely said it was about "student compliance issues." I told him to send me an email about it and I would pass it along. He was roughly polite but relented.
I get lots of hang ups from this number, and I know it's this company because the caller ID always just names a random state. One day, I had to hang up on a woman after she was so aggressive that she would not get off the phone. This prompted her to call again and leave a nasty message, then about 20 hang ups from her and her friends on that day.
Based on all of this inconsistency, I'd say these are probably scammers.
Received a call from them also, but they stated needed to speak with someone in payroll. Told them that is all handled up in NY, and still insisted he speak with someone so I hung up!
Just received a call from this number, wanting to speak with someone in Payroll. Explained that we do our own payroll and I would have to give her another number. She hung up.
The number comes up as “Ohio” on our caller ID. I have noticed most sales calls come up as either “Private” or under some state name. I just got a call from them today asking for payroll. I told her we are just a satellite office and our payroll department is located in NY. She asked for their number and I replied by asking her if this was a sales call. She said she had some tax law information she wanted to forward to us… (Really?) I told her our New York office is listed on the internet and to go look it up. She said she would… and I am sure she did! ;-)
I have been answering our company phone for nearly nine years. As a general rule, all legitimate callers identify who they are and what they want as soon as you answer the phone. You never have to ask them any questions and immediately know how to handle the call.
