She started off saying "I'm sorry I may have the wrong number" then said I had "recently received information on how to lower my electric bill" then said "can you hear me". When I said yes she hung up.
Same description as other callers - a Mrs. Hamilton with a cough wanting to give me important infomation about supply charges for my account. I called my electric company to find out. They said it is most likely not a scam, but someone wanting you to switch providers - the scam part is they may switch you over without your permission to make money once you tell them your account number. So the key is to ask all the right questions before you give any information.
My electric company stated that when a different provider is chosen, they get/responsible for 40% of the bill while the electric company is responsible for 60%. May be a better deal if you get all the info on contract, fixed rate vs variable, etc. But no need to call back if you are happy with your service.
