This is the Breast Cancer society again. Last year I pledged 10.00 since they called incessantly. Before I could even send the money, they hounded me via phone and mail. Once I sent the money, I assumed it was over. Wrong. I stressed to them not to ever call me again. My mother died from breast cancer, and this is dear to my heart. It's a shame a company like this is tarnishing the cause.
Today...2 times already this morning. Once at 8:30 & at 11:00!!!!
So much for the Do Not Call LIst. Someone make them stop the harassment!
The Breast Cancer Society is one organization I wish I had never contributed to in the past. They are constantly calling even when I tell them I'm not donating to their organization. Luckily, I now have caller ID and don't answer the phone. They call first thing in the morning and throughout the day. In the past two weeks they have called over 40 times. Even when I tell them I didn't want to donate, they still won't quit. This fund-raising organization gives REPUTABLE charities a bad name. A large portion of the funds people donate are going to "fund-raising" fees--not to the people who need it most. In my opinion, this Charity should be shut down. Give money directly to your local charity--not these blood suckers. If they call you, hang up immediately.
Don't blame the DNC for not knowing what you want. It is not a call blocker. Blame your caller. If you instructed them to cease calling they are obligated to cease. If they continue to call, report it. The DNC is based upon the honor r system. If someone has no honor it is up to you to take the appropriate steps. The DNC is just a LIST. A list has no way to know what calls are acceptable or unacceptable to everyone.
I agreed to donate $20. They then requested my credit card info for payment. I told them I would not do that and hung up. They may be legitimate or maybe not. Either way, I would never give credit card info to a stranger that calls and am amazed they would expect it.
