This phone number has called me 6 times in 5 hours. I was at work, so I couldn't answer. Finally I got worried, and I answered, they were asking about insurance. I told them I could not even understand what they were saying and had a thick Indian accent. Finally she transferred me to a person who spoke English, and I clearly asked for them not to call me any more and to take my name of the list. This is harassment. They are from Canton, OH and I would love to drive to Canton Ohio and speak to this person face to face, then see if they have the guts to talk to my face.
I answered and they asked for me. I asked what they wanted and they asked if I'd filled out an insurance quote request for my car- they provided the exact info of my car- year, make, model, but no VIN (that'd REALLY worry me). I told him I've not done so in some time. The man was Indian and I could understand him fine, though not sure if he was actually calling from somewhere in Ohio or maybe Kolkota or elsewhere in India.
After I told him I'd not filled anything out online for some time, he thanked me and hung up. I think he may be with a company which purchased potential leads or contact info from some other company. They started calling yesterday, and five times at that. Today was the first time I'd answered. They seem legit, just an annoyance with their calling frequency. I suspect they're using an auto dialer and an agent picks up the phone when someone answers with "Hello?" or such on the other end of the line they're calling.
I couldn't quite make out the company name, but I think it may have been 21st Century Insurance. They are underwritten by Farmers Insurance Group out of Wilmington, DE. http://www.21st.com/
