Got a robo call telling me the FBI, etc, etc and wanting to know if I wanted a security system. Dialed 1 just to hear the spiel. Got a lady with a strong Indian accent who asked me if I owned the house. She then said she'd have one of her "security specialists" give me a call. Turns out the call was from a company called Monitronics. Which appears to be a legitimate company. Their number was 401-213-3228. I think this number is Rhode Island, but the guy said he was in Dallas. Oh, and the lady with the strong Indian accent? Well, she was an "exchange student." Right. Something isn't right. They claim to install the system free but you have to pay a $54/a month fee. That doesn't seem like proper fee for a good security system.
About five minutes after I hang up with this guy, the same robo call comes through again! Monitronics has a very bad business record see: http://www.ripoffreport.com/ Based on what I've read, I wouldn't do business with them.
