I got a call from this number & they left a message to call regarding our Columbia Gas bill, to call back with a copy of the bill & ask for ex. 4. We are a season company and for that reason pay our winter biil in advance = a credit on our account so I know there are no issues. I think they want to scam you into switching
I am a property manager for multiple properties and all utilities are handled through our corporate office. I received a message on the office answering machine over the weekend to call this number regarding our gas account. They made it sound very threatening. They said to make certain when we called to have our account number handy. This let me know immediately it was bogus. All these companies know to deal with corporate and not the individual properties.
I called and received an answering service. I asked if it was for Dominion Gas and they said they handle those accounts. They didn't say yes they were Dominion Gas. She had to have someone return my call.
They called back within 5 minutes. They were being evasive. Rather indignant. I finally got it through to them to remove the number from their list.
I never actually did get a company name from them. They just said they handle the gas account. They lie and try to trick you. They try to sound threatening. I think maybe they need to be reported.
I am not certain how an individual would handle this. If an elderly person received this call they may feel their utilities are in jeopardy of being shut off and go along with them.
I am an individual and got the same call as Mary. Called back same BS, so i googled number and got here. Not sure what their game is. i told answering service, which i am sure is part of whatever scam they are running, to put it where there is no sun. Three calls on my answering machine and counting.
