This number called me and said I had committed wiring fraud and were taking me to court for some payday advance They wanted me to pay over $4000 to keep it out of court. Who are these people
Well unless you are an electrician, then I would not worry about "wiring fraud" as there is no such thing. This is a common scam by criminals attempting to extort money from you. Fraud is a criminal offense and you would not be able to pay to get out of it. No one is going to call you on a criminal charge and tell you about it, they will just come and arrest you. Debt is civil; and you cannot be put in jail for it. Ignore the calls, and they will eventually give up, or answer the call, and tell them you know your rights and to send you a validation letter in the mail, not e mail, fax, phone, or smoke signals, none of which are legal.
