I have gotten two calls from Diabetic Care. They verify our address. Asked how often I test my sugar. Then they want to upgrade my meter to one that is not on my formulary list and say that my insurance company allows for an upgrade. They don't know my insurance company. They requested the last four of my social security number (which I did not give). When I gave the phone to my spouse, they hung up. I tried to call back but an automated voice says they are all busy. I received a previous call from an out of town number. It is really sad that these predators prey on people who think someone is trying to help them. Like our medical system is not complicated enough.
I made the mistake of putting my number into a form to receive information. I have since been annoyed with calls from Diabetic Care who hang up on me when I ask to be removed from the list. Apparently they do not understand that I do not want to keep receiving the calls. After asking for the 5th time to be removed, I still get calls from this number, but they do not say anything when I answer.
I also made the mistake of putting my phone number into a form for Time Warner. I have received these calls several times a day ever since I don't answer but they don't give up.
