Called a week after a car accident. Hard to understand, older woman, claimed to be chiropractor, urging make appointment. I said "no thanks" and hung up. Number apparently auto-dials because it called me again 4 more times same morning, and left no message when I let it roll to voicemail. Interrupted me every 30 minutes!
I Googled it -- map says it's in the middle of Grace Park in Akron, Ohio. Not sure how they got my number, except from possibly a police report that is public record ...
My husband got a call from this number this morning telling him to call Dr. Castro regarding the accident he was in.
He was in a minor car accident 7 days ago. The accident was reported to the police, but no claims were done against our insurance, so I have no idea how he got his number in the first place.
The other driver was under the influence of something, didn't have any insurance and took off before the police got to the scene. So it isn't something from the insurance company of the guy who hit him either. We're blocking the number from his phone.
Not sure how these scammers are getting the phone numbers though. I'm sure they start out with looking on police blotters and go from there.
