They just called one of my cell phones today from 1-330-931-4034. Left a message about a lawsuit being filed for unpaid debt. Call PDS Mediation Services of Ohio. Location description of phone says call came from Kent, Ohio. I called the number back and got a voice mail with a female voice who claimed her name is Veronica Jordan and to leave a message.
Apparently, this scammer company owns a block of numbers in the 330-931-4XXX sequence because there are various other numbers from this company within that block reported here and this company claims to be collecting debt owed on old magazine subscriptions. Be careful.
Same here!! She said her name was Veronica Jordan and was very rude & when told not to call anymore stated that if I would get a job then people like her wouldn't have to call me. I have nothing on my credit regarding this..smh!!
This scammer company has been calling me none stop. She has been leaving voicemails and everything. Sadly, I called her back one time to see what was going on and she could not provide me with any proof but stated that a civil suit had been taken out against from a magazine company that I know absolutely NOTHING about. She then stated that if I paid her $526.00, she would make the whole civil matter disappear. These people disgust me.
Ignore and block these calls. If you were the subject of a pending civil lawsuit, you'd have received a letter from the attorney for the other party. You'd have a paper trail.
Then, if a case was filed, you'd have received a summons delivered to you by someone licensed to serve process in your locality. You would NOT have first heard about any civil law case from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money.
You can check this out yourself by simply going down to the local main civil court and checking the defendants civil list. The court clerks are usually glad to help and are familiar with these kinds of scams.
