This outfit has found a way to deceive the call blockers. I've had several calls, all from the same phony scammer, TBD2, but each call has come from a different #. Block the area code? Forget about it! Each call comes from a different state, let alone area code. As each one comes in, it's added to my block list, but I guess there'll be two or three more today, and tomorrow, and the day after. It's a game now, whether they run out of proxy phone #s or I run out of the 1200 blocks my machines is capable of handling.
When some entity goes this far out of its way to annoy the crap out of people, are there still fools out there that will pay for their services?
It's asking me to identify the type of call, but words such as "scam" and "annoying" are not on the list. Neither is "crap", but if it were, that would be my choice. Instead, I chose Telemarketer, knowing it's wrong. The maker of these calls is not Google and has nothing to do with Google. He/she is a scammer and a thief, attempting to sell something to which he/she has no right, and damaging the good name of a perfectly legitimate company. There ought to be a law! Oh wait... there is... but no one whose job it is to enforce the law gives a flying damn!
Just so you know there are call blockers that can 'white list' phone numbers. You program in ONLY the numbers you want to get through, all others are blocked. May not be what you want/need, but I thought I'd mention it.
There is a much better way to deal with these calls. It's called a 'telebouncer'. It forces the incoming caller to press 1 or 2 to reach you, something a telemarketer cannot do. It eliminated 100 % of the junk calls coming into our business.
