They call every day up to 4 times. The # they call from is a ghosted local # for our area, nvr ans. It's always the same, some cheerful woman asking me to callback about my mortgage. I block every # they call from
It's an obvious scam operation that has bought numbers from vendors and mailing lists. They call at all hours of the day, upwards of four times a day, and never let you pick up. If you pick up the recording clicks off and hangs up. When it goes to voice mail it's always the same "cheerful" woman telling you that she's calling to talk about your mortgage even if you do not HAVE a mortgage. When you do call back it is yet again a recording of a "cheerful" woman, mostly the same one that left the message, other times it's a different "cheerful" woman, that when you say OPERATOR or NO, or MANAGER, they make a slight amused sigh-scoff and say "looks like you're not interested so I'll put you on our Do Not Call list".
This is a scam and anyone that gets hit with this block the numbers after calling back at least once to get the "I'll put you on our DNC list", just make sure to block the numbers and keep reporting them every time they call you.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, fill out the form at DNC.GOV every time you get one of these calls. Also, if you ever find out where these telemarketers are located please post on here because I will drive up to 400 miles or have someone I know that is closer to them (anywhere in the country) and go and take care of this problem in person.
