I got a call with no message. I called the number back anonymously, and got the message inbox is full. I suspect a telescammer is spoofing (impersonating a legitimate phone number on Caller ID) a business' phone number.
I received a call from a telescammer a few months ago; I called the Caller ID number displayed, and I connected with a legitimate business. The owner of the business had no idea their phone number was being used as a cover for telescamming, until they started receiving a variety of phone calls from strangers stating that they had received phone calls from their business, based on the Caller ID displayed.
Easy enough, if I don't know the number...I'm not picking it up. It doesn't matter if someone spoofs the white-house phone number, I'll wait for official correspondence to come through the post office in the form of certified mail if it's legitimate.
