Got a call from this Call center in INDIA, some guy, said his name was Marion Turner (couldn't really understand him). Said he all this information on me, and I owned a pay day loan, which is a bunch of crap. These Indian Call centers use a bunch of numbers. 760-935-3927,760-748-4422, 325-245-0507,716-794-0444,746-217-4922, it's all about bogus pay day loans. Beware putting your information out over the internet, because these scum sucker, hack in and get it and then call all the time.
That's exactly what they told me, too. I heard it was a scam. Not even going to answer anymore phone calls from them. Especially the ones that I don't recognize on my caller ID.
I received several calls from this number in recent months. As everyone else has stated indian sounding voice and the voice mails he has left me had very loud noise in the backround. Yesterday they called my employer and called the owner a liar because I was not there. So, she told her husband who is a big fellow and voice to match his size. He took the phone and layed down the law to him and told him to leave me and the business alone.
I called them yesterday, blocked my number and asked what city they are in without identifying myself. The women that answered said New York, New York. Today I called and asked what the temperature is where this fellow is at. He said cold, very cold. I asked for the temperature again, he said -25C. I said thank you and hung up. I just wanted to verify he was from somewhere else and he did. We don't use Celcius in the US. They do use that everywhere else in the world (mostly).
My boss did notify the Federal Trade Commission regarding this issue.
I am a detective for a major law enforcement agency on the west coast. I recently contacted a victim that she was receiving harrassing calls from this number (347-286-7380). Her complaint was the same as everyone who has posted here in this forum.
To verify her claim, I called the number, pretending to be someone who wanted to make good on paying an outstanding debt to their collection agency. They took the bait, and asked for my SSN, along with my credit card number.
I have since started a psycological harrassment campaign, calling the number up to 200X a day in order to disrupt their operation. I successfully forced them to shut down the number for several hours yesterday.
If you want some "get back" on these people, simply turn off your caller ID, and call the number, and harrass them. Better yet, get some friends involved, and blow up the phone line for an hour or so. Eventually, they will have to change the number.
I am going to check with the federal authorities in order to determine if there is any way to locate where these people are operating from.
The only thing that has worked is to start calling them. Post their number on facebook and ask your friends to call them to. Blaock your number so they do not see it. Trust me this will irritate them. If you are calling them and asking them questions - their name, address, fax, for something in writing, then they are losing money b/c they can't be calling the people they are scamming. We can play their game too.
