Caller ID came up as "Agency G".
Didn't pick up when they called, but quickly checked Google for possible complaints -- nothing really came up, so I immediately called back the # and got some woman named Kimberly in Omaha.
She claimed she sets up appointments for insurance companies reps. and that the reason I got her upon callback was that "automated dialer got me to her" and she's all innocent, just checks on people to see if they need anything that has to do with Life Insurance... 8-/
I asked her how is it that she sets up appointments with insurance companies sitting in Omaha for someone, who lives in New York City. She mumbled something unintelligible in response, saying that she's just an "operator", though she sounded more like she was sitting in her living room. I informed her that I'm on a do-not-call list and by calling me with the telemarketing offers she violates the ordinance and the federal law and that if she doesn't want to find herself on the defendant's side in a lawsuit, to immediately drop my number from the calling list. She said that her caller ID showed my # as "unlisted number", so if only I gave her my real number, then she'd "make them stop"...
Yeah, right...
Next -- she'll sell it to some other lowlife schemer, who'll offer me either a "good deal" on a car insurance or congratulate me on Sunday night at 10PM on winning all expenses-paid, free 4-week vacation trip for 100 in Florida's resort in exchange for my credit card information......
Also, mentioned to her that there's a law being passed about robocalls and if she even heard about it -- she said "no"...
No wonder......
