You can't really do anything to stop them, but you can complain to your service provider.
If you are an AT&T customer you can forward the message to 7726 (S-P-A-M on your telephone keyboard). It will send you a free text back asking you to reply with the telephone number or SMS short code that sent you the spam message.
I suppose if they get enough of them, they stop the provider. With so many cheap services to send bulk SMS, it is unlikely the culprits will receive the punishment they deserve.
I got a text saying I won an Apple drawing and I could get my iPad 2 at www. appleprized.net/?id=lckrkckwyk
I did not enter a drawing and do not trust these texts.
Does anyone know how to stop them?

Can you provide me with a web link or other means to verify what you have said about AT&T and 7726 ? Or at least tell me how you learned about it? It isn't that I don't trust you, but if you are correct that is great news, and I would like to pass it on. Unfortunately, sometimes these things turn out to be Internet lore, so I want to be very sure before recommending it to others.
