An automated voice recording states "This is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 347-708-0123. When I call the number back and can get through to someone they cannot tell me my name or address but that there is a lawsuit against me and they have called the county sheriffs department, but could not tell me what county. total scam. have called twice today with the same message.
I have received a dozen calls claiming that there is a legal matter that I must respond to, they also left a "file number" to reference: "233231" and an associated name which is not my name and hard to understand ("Margo Lock?"). It is always an automated voice/message. They have referred me to a couple other call-back numbers as well: 480-499-0436 and 951-446-1594 but it is always the same scam. Those other numbers have similar complaints listed.

My dad received this automated call this morning. Since when does the IRS make phone calls? First red flag. when I called the number the first time it rang over and over probably 10 or 15 times then someone picked it up and didn't say anything. I said hello and they hung up on me. I called it back and it just continued to ring until I finally hung up. second red flag. not sure what this scammer is trying to achieve? are they trying to get you to give them personal information like a social security number or something? Everything about this is shady.
