This number has called my cell phone at least 50/60 times!! & somehow they also have my house phone number & they have called that over 100 times!!! The first 20 times on each line I would aggressively demand them not to call back, now I just don't answer!! What the F am I suppose to do? I'm busy and don't have time to spend hours on the phone I have to pay to talk on, just to have this stupid number blocked, but I guess that's my only choice!! I kno people will most likely respond by saying just that, (just get the number blocked) but I just really want to get to the bottom of all this, find out who, why, & what scam is being attempted or being successfully pulled off!!!! For all I kno this web site could be there's!!!! Anyway, anyone have any info please respond on this message board!! Give thx, and lets stop this thing, we could be in a lot more trouble than we even want to think! I've read of technology so advanced the caller can actually continue to listen after you hang up on them!!! You say no don't call back & hang up, then until u use ur phone again, they can listen thru your phone for hours!!!! Sounds crazy, but if they listened to enough people for enough time they are bound to pick up a social security number from a doctor visit or other appointment, ECT.......... AND FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, IF U HAVE A WEB CAMERA ON YOUR LAPTOP OR DESKTOP, IF YOUR COMPUTER IS ON THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF HACKERS THAT CAN WATCH YOU, AND TRY & FIND NUMBERS, (SS, CREDIT CARD) SO THEY CAN ATTEMPT TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY!!! ITS DISGUSTING,DISTURBING, & ITS HAPPENING A LOT MORE THAN PEOPLE THINK!!! TRY TO EDUCATE YOURSELF AND REACH OUT IF YOU NEED HELP!!
Received a call today (one of many from this number over several weeks). The call starts out as an electronic message asking if I want to lower my credit card interest rates. I usually hang up, but today I decided that I wanted to "pursue" this a little further (i.e. tell them to stop calling). I pressed one, as the prompt directed and was connected to a person ( a man) who started asking me questions. I interrupted him immediately and started asking what bank he was calling from. He answered by saying it was about my "Visa or MasterCard credit card." I continued asking him WHAT BANK--he listed all of the big companies--Chase, Citibank, Bank of America etc. I then told him that I no longer wished to receive calls from this company---he hung up before I could finish my sentence. I tried to call the number back and got a busy signal. **This is DEFINITELY a PHISHING SCAM**** Do not give out your information. Not one piece of it.
I just received a call from this number on my iPhone. The only description was its location, from Daytona Beach, FL. I never answer calls that are not in my contacts list. Why have such calls been increasing over the past ~2 years? At home I have a Panasonic 2-Line system that allows me to block calls, and most mobile phones have this ability as well. On my iPhone, I created a contact, "Blocked", and I add numbers to the contact with a custom description of the caller (In this instance, "Daytona Beach Credit Card Scam"). I have also placed my landlines and mobile lines on "Do Not Call" lists, however it seems some companies are using loopholes. If your mobile is receiving such calls, I highly recommend creating a contact (ex. "Blocked") and adding such numbers to it. On an iPhone, open the "Phone" app then select "Recents" at the bottom. Next to each number is an "i" in a circle, click on it and scroll down, then select "Block this Caller". This should create a new contact with just the number (if you haven't already created a "Blocked" caller contact). Name the contact "Blocked" or whatever name you wish, then select the number and change its name by selecting "Create custom name". This will allow you to keep track of each number instead of a long list of numbers without reference. From then on, simply add blocked numbers into that same contact. I cannot speak for other phone platforms (I work for Apple in Marketing in the EU Eastern Districts from Berlin, so I know iPhones/iOS well), but most have this ability.
I rejected call for if I don't know number, I don't answer especially from Daytona spamming Florida. The do not call list is a joke and may these scammers be thrown into fire!
