Who called from 5045394503

Receive call after call from this number.  No message.

Last night, at 8:19 PM, the phone range 21 times. This is how I know that is not a legitimate number, but is actually one of numbers being used by some spammer that sometimes identifies itself as Loyola U. In November of last year, I got a call from these people that rang over 50 times before it stopped ringing.

These earlier calls all started with 504-861-58xx. I have checked the numbers with Loyola University, which, of course, will say neither one way or the other if one of their beg-a-thon boiler rooms was doing the calling.

As I have had trouble with a neighbor who thinks that harassing people is fun -- he runs his own collection agency -- I am not surprised that he has begun to use  new number series. That the calls are coming from area code 504 makes me particularly suspicious.

I have identified the called company as "Saints for Sinners", which is the name under which this troublesome neighbor lists himself on Google maps and in local directories. I have been at the receiving end of too many of his knavish tricks not to recognize when he is up to some new deviltry.

Very interesting, that the only message recorded said "senior need to get a medical alert system for their homes, and to push a certain button to get off of the calling list."

For heaven's sake, people! Do not pick up calls from names or numbers you do not recognize! If you should pick up such a call, and a voice tells you to press a particular number, press nothing. Hang up immediately! These people target the elderly, many of whom grew up in more innocent times, when you could presumably trust someone one the phone. They think that these phone calls are wonderful because they are directed to them.

Educate your elders! Teach them that although it is sweet to be trusting, it is also dangerous.

Same here. It is for an elderly life line. I've talked to them several times and told them not to call back but they keep doing so. Filed a complaint with the FCC THREE times. Still calling. This has been going on since October.
