I called the number back after hours and got a recording. It didn't identify a business name but said I had "recently visited an affiliates website and was eligible for a $100 gift card." It gave me the option to press 1 to register for the gift card or press 2 to be placed on their "do not call list." I just hung up... I'm assuming they are trying to sell you something. Or they are scamming people.
# called after 9pm; rang twice then hung up. Tried texting the #, no response...must be some type of land-line. Since the # isn't in my contacts, must not be important...oh well, thanks for all the input!
Just got a call on my cell phone. No message left. I block numbers everyday, primarily to my land line though. Now that so many potential "customers" are savvy and block these nuisance calls, the pigs are spoofing hundreds of ever changing numbers. In December, I received harassing calls to my land line from 28 different phone numbers, and that's not counting the calls from private caller or those that spoofed my own name and phone number. Unfortunately, these calls aren't going away, so there must be people falling for the scams. Those calling me are calling about lowering credit card interest rates. They appear to be desperate. Too bad they don't believe in getting a job.
I received a call (on my cell phone) from 504-662-1053. They rang twice and hung up. I checked online and a lot of people are complaining about receiving this call. If you call back ,it's a scam from some company saying because you visited a website recently , they want to offer you a $100 gift card. I am on the DO NOT CALL list , so they should not be calling me..Please stop them.
