After Katrina, T&T cancelled my old phone number and gave me a new one in New Orleans. Instantly, I was deluged with calls from collection agencies for some darlin' named "Amanda". As I put it together, this "Amanda" used various names but the same number. What freaked me out was that her clients (ahem) began to call me. Fortunately, I had Caller ID, and traced some of them back to neighborhoods in Algiers and Gretna. Then I got a call from yet another collection agency; I held my temper and told the agent that I had only just gotten the number from AT&T. That settled the problem. "Amanda's" clients ceased calling. Except for the usual spam calls that are reported at 800notes, my fight with the collection agencies is over. Amen!
