Alert: Consumer Survey Scam
Situation
In recent weeks, some individuals have received false notification letters purportedly from YRC Corporations with accompanying counterfeit checks that feature the old YRC logo.
The YRC Worldwide Security team continues to receive regular inquiries about the scam. Following is information you can share to let others know how to respond to the fraudulent activity.
The scam attempts to persuade recipients to complete two assignments: first, to pose as mystery shoppers who are shopping at retail outlets such as Best Buy, Sears and JC Penney; and second, to assess the services of money-transfer companies, such as Western Union.

How to respond
If you get a call from someone who has received one of these letters and checks, tell them they should not contact or wire money to the scammers and should not attempt to deposit the counterfeit check. Counterfeit checks will not clear the bank.
Individuals who receive such a letter and check allegedly sent by YRC Worldwide or any YRCW company should contact YRC Worldwide Corporate Security:
•913-344-3920
•or email
[email protected] with a name and a phone number where they can be reached
They may also contact local law enforcement if they receive a letter and think that someone is attempting to obtain money from them fraudulently.
YRC Worldwide is in contact with Canadian and U.S. federal authorities regarding the scam.
