Do not listen to anyone who calls you pretending to be Microsoft or a Microsoft certified technician, it's one of the oldest scams in the book! The real Microsoft will never call you directly!
The phone number itself is a giveaway as well, though you'd only spot it if you know enough about the NANP. A legit NANP phone number cannot have the Central Office code (first 3 digits after the area code) begin with a 1 or a 0.
