The IRS will never contact you initially by phone.
Once previous written contact had been established and a case or issue becomes ongoing, such as a pending action on an offer of compromise, they will call if there is a question. However, you will know it is legit because it will deal only with that issue, they Will ask for no personal data and no payment of money or threats are asked. Own my company, been there...done that.
I also had the same phone call. The first thing I did was go on line with this number and I found you... This is a bogus call. The IRS will never call you first on the phone. They always contact you by mail.
Beware of these type of scams. He said that I will be arrested. Yeh right.
Same here.. The lady tried to speak over her accent. I can tell she must be from somewhere in africa bthreaten me with arrest warrant being issued anyday.
