In the message, users are told they'll get the gift card just for clicking the link or completing a survey.
Walmart says it does not offer $1,000 gift cards in this manner.
If you get the message, do not click on the link.

In this one, a message appears to come from the Better Business Bureau saying the agency has received a complaint from you.
The message includes a link, purportedly for more information. Again, do not click on the link and, if you have in the past, run a full virus and spyware scan on your computer.
Received text on my cell phone telling me I had won a $1,000 gift card from Wal-Mart, and directing me to a website to collect the prize. I generally don't do business with Wal-mart, so I suspect it's a come-on or scam of some sort. In any regard, I don't want to receive junk texts on my cell phone!

received this message on Sunday, March 18th @ 5:50 pm "You have just won a $1000 Walmart Gift card! To claim go to http://prize-patrol.net/walmart - and enter GIFT. Deleting message - obviously a scam of some sort!!! BEWARE! People these days sell your info like crazy too so be super careful of who you submit your info to!!
