Caller is calling to say you haven't paid your taxes in the past 3 years and the police are coming to pick you up at your home in the next 45 minutes. Tells you to hire a lawyer and good luck
I got the same message...appeared to be an Indian dude who said the same thing...misrepresenting taxes filing and someone who could be using my social security number. I asked him do you know where i was in 2008...I told him Iraq and he paused. Good luck [***]...come to my front door and see what the [***] happens.
I've received several calls in the past few days from someone posing as "Officer Eric Foster" from the IRS. He also suggested that I return his call, or have my attorney to contact him. He has a heavy accent and also wished me "good luck" if I ignore his call. Of course, I attempted numerous times to return his call to give him a piece of my mind......and to wish him "good luck."
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
Received the same xact call as Ken did, some foreigner impersonating that he was a police officer that for me to ae my attorney contact them or I'll be sorry and Good Luck. I called ack the # and some foreigner picked up the phone answering IRS I asked to speak to a supervisor then I told him that I was going to report them to the FTC and the call got disconnected.
