I saw an ad on Craigslist for an almost too perfect apartment. I emailed them and almost immediately received some email about them having to re locate to the UK for missions work. I was skeptical but replied back that I was interested. The following day I found another ad on craigslist for an apartment in another area of the city. When I inquired about it I got an email back almost immediately... But it sounded like a reworded and slightly changed version of the email I had received the previous day. Warning bells blaring yet still desperate for an apartment, I continued correspondence with "Jen and Leo Cisse" and the other, named "Mark Leonard", even filling out a bogus application for one of the apartments. I didn't include any information that they could use against me, but it was all very sketchy. I then received a text from "Jen Cisse" and I was like ok... This was a real person. So I tried to call her... And it turned out to be a "google" number of sorts... I immediately got chills. I went online and typed their names into Google and this site came up. I am so glad I avoided a huge scam. I have reported this and will spread the word any way I can!
I got a call for the same reason. They were attempting to rent me an apartment in Halifax, NS. They had a very complex slightly unbelievable backstory, huge red flag.
Emailed us .. 18 year olds and tried to scam us until we saw this post and got the money back before they got it.. In the Ukraine.. It's sad how they think they can live that way.. Sad!
