These scammers have called me every single day (sometimes 2-3 times) and everyday for the past week I have told them I am not interested and to remove my phone number. They still call. I am in the middle of chemotherapy and these phone calls the last thing I need. After I blocked the few #'s they used they began calling from an unknown number. Ever time I tell them of all the repeated harassment they tell me they just started today. Through the help of a cop friend I am going to trace the number next week when I get home from hospital if they call again
Claimed to be able to reduce my auto payments by 35%. I asked for their website and I was told it was autocare.com. Scam, does not exist, pressed a few more,questions and they hung up
As per Ricks note, they are a scam saying the will reduce your insurance rates. They are obviously operating illegally, since they are calling people on the "do not call list". The reason you get so many dropped calls is because of the way they operate. They buy a prepaid cellphone, buy the unlimited calling feature, and wire it into a computer. Then the people in the Indian Subcontinent make the scam calls. Since the internet connectivity, reliability, and electrical supply is very poor, frequently you get bad call quality and dropped connections. This time, the guise was for "reducing auto insurance". Mostly they do the "reduce credit card rates" scam. Not sure how they get the money or just are trying to steal you Credit Card number. They must have just bought this cell phone recently, since all the messages are from today. Next week they will buy another prepaid phone. How can they be stopped?
Called me today at 6:43 pm...no message left and I didn't answer... my car is owned outright (2006) and is a straight 6 standard Jeep. I am happy with my insurance company...if this is what it is all about...
