Yep scammers. When I have time I try to keep them on the phone as long as possible. That is the worst thing you can do to them is waste their time. Play dumb and make them explain things over and over till they hang up.
Guys do not answer or press anything. This is a scam. They are not a real company so it's pointless to select any option that claims it is to remove you from a list. All you are doing is verifying the phone number still belongs to someone when you do that.
No one needs a robodialed credit service. Block the number and move on. They will call again bc the robot will hit ur # again. And yes they will call from another number if that doesn't work. Block and move on...
Pre-recorded called to landline on DNC. Typical "Card Services". Pressed 1 and put on hold as the "20th" caller in queue (Last time I answered one of these, I was 80 in queue). As before, it quickly counted down and I was the next caller. A woman asked if I had over $XXX in credit card debt, and she seemed to be kind of laughing. I said I did, and she said that's nice and then it went silent and hung up.
Never give these folks any real information. They are wanting your credit card information, and if they were legitimately calling about your credit card, they would at least know your name beforehand. And even if they did, do not volunteer anything. If you have any questions about your credit card, call the number on the back of the card.
One thing I think may be positive, is that the call queue seems to run down quickly, so hopefully there are people telling them to stop calling, hanging up on them, or something other than getting defrauded.
