Typical spoofed number, robo-called on a tie-line from a call center in a manure pile in Florida. Caller Id for this calll says Lorton VA. This gang is connected to a group that calls multiple times daily using spoofed local (Northern Virginia, in this instance) numbers, offering a variety of scams, frauds, mortgage refi, auto warranties, back braces, insurance, soliciting donations, etc. So far, there have been calls for five different breast cancer research causes, all of which are fraudulent. Every such call is reported to the FCC and FTC. Enough complaints will eventually get results- the last weekend edition of USA Today reported that a fraud robo-caller in Miami FL was fined $120 million by the FCC for over 96 million scam robo-calls using spoofed numbers; criminal charges are pending. Yes, if enough people complain, the Feds will eventually react! Blocked.
