Just recieved a text from 571-482-9245 trying to buy my vehicle using a shipper/mover stating that he was a Marine and was working right now. Also suing paying with paypal. Scam.
Did you go on with the sale before you found out it was a scam? I realized it had to be when he said he would be using a shipper/mover for a 97 s-10 blazer.
This post helped me so much! And made me freak out at the same time. The SAME thing happened to me tonight, and I ALMOST fell for it then thought it was fishy and reported his phone number to the Virginia police department because that's where his number as traced to via my cell phone app for tracking what city/state a phone number is from.
The things he had said to all of you, is exactly what he said to me.
Do you think I'm at risk of this person looking up my number to get any personal info from me and have continuous problems with this dude? I'm like freaking out. Cuz I called him out on his scam, and now I'm a little terrified about continuing problems with this person. What did you do/ what would you suggest?
