I've gotten 3 calls from this number tonight, January 25th, 2015 which I ignored, A message was left. It was 'Joe' inviting me to listen in on a discussion of new energy rates proposed to the Missouri legislature by Ameren, the primary electricity utility in this part of Missouri. The call was sponsored by the Fair Energy Rate Action Fund (FERAF)

It's always good to find out who these organizations represent.
Notice that their website is .com, for profit, and not .org, non-profit.
I sure don't want my electricity rates to go up, so I'm inclined to be positive about the caller.
Looking FERAF up on the web, you find that it's members tend to be large employers like Anheuser Busch, Ford Inc. and the like. Well, AH doesn't want to pay higher rates anymore than I do.
They are opposed by a group called "Missourians for a Balanced Energy Future", which has also sponsored phone lecture invitations. Their website is http://moenergyfuture.org - which, by it's .org suffix, is a non-profit organization, whose membership includes small businesses, chambers of commerce, labor unions, clergy, etc., so I read up on them as well.
I haven't decided which of these two groups I agree with, or if I agree with either. But they're not spam, don't seem to be partisan - they just want to give you their propaganda. I'm still going to ignore the calls, but investigate their claims on my
own. They have to do with pending legislation that can have a big effect on energy costs in the state.
I'm providing this info because it might be useful to readers. I'm motivated to track these calls down because it's a fun
way to exorcise the frustration I get from the spammers, phishers and criminals who assault our privacy daily.
