Same deal, call every day with no message. Today I answered and a machine generated voice asked if Alan was there, I said who is this and the machine asked the same question with my response the same; then silence and I hung up.
Same deal, call every day with no message. Today I answered and a machine generated voice asked if Alan was there, I said who is this and the machine asked the same question with my response the same; then silence and I hung up.
I get phone calls from this number regularly. I never answer that phone so the voice mail picks it up--occasionally they leave a message. It appears to be a recorded message meant to sound "live". I let several messages store on my voice mail and then listened to them back-to-back--they are all 100% identical in pitch, time, and message. It is always "Is Don there? [long pause] Hello? Are you there?". Obviously a recording.
I have also received this same call/message from "private number" and "unknown caller", as well as 571-392-2998.

Just received a call from 571-777-9008. I was suspicious from the start because that is a VA exchange and caller ID said "Washington, DC." A man with a very southern "twangy" accent said, "Is the man or the lady of the house at home?" I asked who was calling. He said it was the Fraternal Order of Police. Yea, uh huh, calling to remind me to buckle up and, by the way, their fund drive is on-going. While he was droning on and on, I told him to send something in the mail and I hung up. Bunch of crap.
