I'm in Arkansas. phone rang, I didn't recognize the number and do not know anyone is Pennsylvania. They did not leave a message. Now on my blocked call list in my phone since the national do not call registry does nothing to prevent this.
Well, no, of the course the DNC registry "does nothing to prevent this". It's not a call blocker. It's simply a list legitimate telemarketers purchase so they aren't calling people who don't want to be called. Non-telemarketing callers such as charities, surveys and political calls are exempt. And of course scammers such as this will ignore it.
It DOES work. But it's not a call blocker so it can't keep you from getting unwanted calls. Scammers such as this don't abide by it so your best bet is to do what you did and just block the number.
