This number has been calling my cell phone constantly for the past 3 weeks. They never leave a voicemail. I researched the number, and it's supposedly coming from a suburb of Philadelphia or eastern Pennsylvania- only problem is that I don't know anyone there. After reading about the other 610 numbers, I'm guessing it's a scam. Only issue is that I'd like to get them to stop calling me-it's getting to the point where they're calling twice a day. I'm on the Do Not Call list, but I don't know if I actually have to pick up the phone and get some information about these callers before I can report them. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Received 2 calls in 2 days. One day message was left it started halfway through saying if your payment is late due to this we will credit your next statement. Have no idea what company....deleted the message. Today another call no message nothing just rang and they hung up. Sooooooooo sick of these idiots. They never say who they are, who they are looking for or when they do leave a message it's a partial one.
Eastern Revenue Service uses a lot of different numbers, and only some of the numbers say the company's name. They are debt collectors for several kinds of businesses, including the medical industry. Doctor offices will turn over any bills with a past due balance of more than 60-90 days. They are based in Pennsylvania. Hope this helps, somebody.
This guy doesn't have a legit business and apparently buys defunct loans and tries to pressure people to pay them. My loan was written off in bankruptcy in 2005. I told him today to stop calling me and sending fake bills to my home. He got pretty irate and I allowed him to listen to the dial tone.
