Typical "Windows Tech Support" scam. This is the 12th call from them this year. They're confused when I ask which computer is "infected" as I have 23 Windows machines and am a data processing center. Oops ... CLICK!
Kept calling. Nevr left a voicemail. Comes out as Benjamin Burl. I ust called him back. A man answered. Said he never called anyone. And that he is in fact Benjamin Burl himself. Go figure.
Caller ID shows up as Baez Madeline, but it's the technical support scam. Which try to convince you your computer is sending them (them being unknown as they don't identify themselves) error code information and try to get you to install remote access to your computer.
First call, from this number, was received on 5/26/15, at 7:50PM, EDT, and now, 3 more times:
5/27/15 at 5:10PM
5/28/15 twice at 2:27PM and 4:23PM.
Thanks to those who took the time to post this scam. I know to ignore it, though I ignore all calls that I don't recognize. I'm sure this scammer will be ringing a few more times before giving up. Caller ID reflects Benjamin Burl, as reported here. If indeed he is the innocent victim of spoofing, we had better all google our names. We may end up being reported on 800 Notes as a scammer, who knows?
