sounds like some sort of telemarketer. some woman calls my work place asking for someone that's not with the company, so instead she'll take the controller, DONT ANSWER
Just got a call from this number (a female on the line) asking for the President of the company I work for (by name) and saying they "needed" to speak to her. I told them she was busy and asked if I could help. They said they'd call back later and when I asked who was calling they hung up.
Received a call from a woman asking for a (former) employee in our IT Dept. I said he no longer worked here and hasn't for quite some time. She asked who had taken his place and claimed to be one of our providers. I told her I thought that was interesting that they were a provider and didn't know the person she'd asked for had been gone a few years already. Then she said they were an online provider. After putting her on hold an appropriate amount of time, I came back to say there was no one to take her call at the moment, but if I could take her name, company and number, I'd pass the message along. She declined and said she'd call back another time. Maybe it was legit, but sure had the feeling of a telemarketing/scam call to me.
Not a scam, just a recruiter. The script is obvious, but it is a very legit business. No need to be rude and nasty... they need to get around the gatekeepers because their business is with a decision maker OR they are trying to steal one of your employees...
Well funny thing is I get a call from this number 610-897-2591 asking for an employee who no longer is here in IT. I gave them name of new IT Manager and told them he is out for the next month. then 30 mins later I get a call from 610-750-8861 asking to speak with Mike in IT. Funny thing both numbers came up Pennsylvania and i told her they called before that and I told her who it was and she acted like she didnt know.
