My mother received a call today. She said the guy had broken English and was asking about " [the] [her] [our] computer that was supposedly in need of repair. I'm taking Information and Computer Security courses at school, and this was an attempt at a phishing attack over the phone called 'Vishing'.
When my mom told me that 'I' was the one he needed to talk to (since I'm heavily involved with computers) he promptly hung up on her. He most likely knew that I would see thru his con game immediately. In the world of IA, they call it social engineering. Beware.
Same call as above. Guy from overseas warning me that my pc was sending signals to them that it was infected. Claimed to be "Technically integrated with Microsoft".
I asked him how he was communicating with my pc, was he telling me that he put spyware there?
He repeated his Microsoft claim, then began a sales pitch about viruses and the protection needed.
He was panicked sounding, and stressed that my pc was in dire straits.
When I informed him that I was a fairly competent pc user, and my pc was in fact spyware clean, he hung up.
Received phone call from 610-834-6333, no one said anything as I said Hello, and a voice automated voice said thank you. The the other end hung up on me.

I got a man with broken English saying that I had won a shopping spree from Walmart for 1,000 dollars. Then he said that all he needed was the shipping and handling fee paid. I said I don't give credit card details over phone. He said it would be secure. Then I asked him, "how did you get my number?" and he went on and on that because I shopped in Walmart the past 3 months and my number was collected in orders I have done there. I told him well there was no way to get my number since I only pay by cash (which is true) and so he got very rude. After I told him thanks for the offer, he then said, "Well why don't you tell me to get lost?" and I said, "Excuss me?" and he said, "Yeah you heard what I said! Get Lost! Don't you understand English?" and I laughed and hung up! What a loser! lol
