I got the same letter and I immediately thought the same thing-SCAM and what are they trying to get from me? I agree too, I am reluctant to call the number too. The phone number on mine was the same except the last four digits were 2227.
I got a letter in the mail with a Sears Financial logo on the envelope with a check of $3,980.00 and a number to call which is 1-647-219-2796 to speak to Samuel Page and the letter signed by Lynne Weekly about some lottery in the U.K.This is bull and someone needs to pay for this harassment and pure dishonesty.
Noluck- A UK lottery, with a Toronto, Ontario phone number, with a Sears Financial logo? They can't make those Red Flags' quick enough. Put it in the recycle bin. SCAM.
I received the very same letter w/Sears Financial on the envelope. Check was for $3,980.00 & letter says to call the claims agent: Samuel Page at 1-647-219-2796. He tells you to deposit the ck & call him back because he will need to get the tax money from the amount that was deposited. Gee, I think he might ask me for my ckecking acct. #.....NO WAY YOU FRICKIN IDIOTS!!! I hope these Jerks get caught!
Opening weekend junk mail discovered check from a ITOCHU Logistics (USA) Corp, 205 St., Torrance Calif. in the amount of $3,980 dated 09/11/2012 as claimed partial payment on a winning prize of $150,000 in a MEGA Lottery. Check in envelop with a obviously copied HOME DEPOT envelop. Letter bearing a Canada Post contained instructions tp call Samuel Page 1-647-219-2796. Not sure what the catch is here since the check appears legit, but I am sure I entered no contest. SUGGEST YOU STAY CLEAR as the trap has likely been very carefully laid.
